  27. Yet another collection of games from APDL.

  29. This CD is for people who want a collection of a variety games at a
  30. sensible price. We have selected twenty five of the best PD and Freeware
  31. games, all of which have been tested on all types of computer from an
  32. A3000 to a A Strong ARM RiscPC. As long as you have 2Mb of RAM you
  33. should be able to run any of these games.

  35. If you want quantity and not quality you could buy the APDL PD-2 CD.
  36. This has hundreds of games, but many of them don't work on all machines
  37. or must be de-archived to a hard disc before they can be used. The games
  38. on this CD will all run direct from the CD, and many have been modified
  39. slightly so that you can still save your High Scores or other data.

  45.                 Saving High Scores and other data
  46.                -----------------------------------

  48. You will see an application called !GAMEDATA on the CD. This is not
  49. really a program, it's just somewhere to put the data games may need to
  50. alter, like High Scores and Saved positions. As this is a CD you can't
  51. write to it, so you will need somewhere other than the CD to save these
  52. files. Just copy the !GAMEDATA program to any writable disc. This can
  53. be a hard disc, floppy disc, or even a RAM disc (but remember you'll
  54. lose the data when you switch off if you use a RAM disc). You must
  55. double-click on the !GAMEDATA program on the writable disc BEFORE you
  56. play to make sure the paths are correctly set. If you want the paths to
  57. be set automatically as soon as the filer sees the copy of !GAMEDATA
  58. then open the !SAVE_DATA directory (hold down SHIFT while you
  59. double-click on it) and you will see a file called BOOT. Rename this to
  60. !BOOT. Now the paths will be set as soon as the filer 'sees' !GAMEDATA
  61. without the need to Run it.
